Sugeeta Upadhyay, Lecturer in Economics

Ph.D in Economics in 1997 from Visva Bharati University titled 'A Cost-benefit Analysis of Higher Education in India with a Special Reference to Women'.Postgraduate degree in Economics with a special paper in statistics. Did a Masters dissertation entitled 'Rate of Exploitation by the middleman among rural women, who are selling home-made artistic handicraft'. Worked as a Gender specialist in a Lucknow-based NGO and helped prepare Gender Profile for several districts in Uttar Pradesh" evaluating status of girl students vis-a-vis the 'Total Literacy Campaign' in different districts of Uttar Pradesh. Joined National Institute of Administrative Research (research wing of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration),Mussoorie in 2002 and was coordinating the project titled "Flow of Funds for Major Plan Schemes" sponsored by the Planning Commission. Since June,2004 coordinating the project entitled "Impact of New Economic Policy on Women's Higher Education" sponsored by ICSSR.
