

Indrani Chakraborty, Associate Professor of Economics
Dr. Chakraborty studied Economics at Calcutta University and received her Ph.D. on "An Economic Analysis of Technological Diffusion in Indian Agriculture" from Calcutta University in 1994. She researched as a visiting scholar at the University of Pavia, Italy during January-March 2003. She taught economics and econometrics at the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, Kerala and North-Bengal University. She has supervised several M.Phil theses on various issues in Development Economics.
Her papers include, "A Theoretical Analysis of Diffusion of the New Agrarian Technology in India" in the Journal of Quantitative Economics, July 1996, vol.12, no.2, "Living Standard and Economic Growth : A Fresh Look at the Relationship Through the Nonparametric Approach" in the Journal of Quantitative Economics, January 1999, vol.15, no.1, "Economic Reforms, Capital Inflows and Macroeconomic Impact in India" published by the Centre for Development Studies, Working Paper No. 311, January 2001, "Liberalization of Capital Inflows and the Real Exchange Rate in India: A VAR Analysis published by Centre for Development Studies, Working Paper No. 351, September 2003.
Presently she is working on issues relating to financial liberalization and its impact in India.
